Behavioural consultation

Importance notice:

Often problem behaviour can be caused by a physical issue. Please ensure your pet has been checked by your veterinary surgeon prior to a consultation.

The consultation process:

Consultations take place in your home – this enables Hanne to see you and your dog in your natural environment. Prior to your first visit, clients will have to complete a preassessment form.

Depending on the case, when the consultation process kicks off the first meeting typically lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours, follow up sessions are usually around 1 to 1.5 hours.  It’s a good idea to have all the members of your family present at the first consultation, so everyone has an understanding of what they need to do.

Your pet’s daily routine, history and family’s expectations of your dog will be discussed and your pet’s behaviour observed.  Hanne will help you to understand why your dog is displaying unwanted behaviours and more importantly, how to deal with them.  An accurate diagnosis and treatment plan will be provided.  Full telephone and email back up support will be available to you following your consultation so you have the support and coaching you need to ensure success.

While most dogs respond well to behaviour modification programmes after the initial consultation, some pets may need extra help. That’s why the behaviour consultation process includes regular face to face sessions forming part of your treatment plan.

The consultation fee is £250. This includes:

  • your consultation
  • mileage for each session (within an 8 mile radius)
  • full set of notes
  • on going behaviour modification action plan
  • back up advice and on-going coaching via email and telephone
  • up to four face-to-face visits - depending on the case, additional visits may be required after our review at session 4.  These additional sessions are charged at £40 per hour.
  • access to the latest articles from Hanne Grice including online blogs, downloadables, newsletters and more
  • invitations to Hanne Grice’s behaviour and training workshops
  • a copy of Hanne Grice’s book Playing With Your Dog (ISBN 978-1-4535-2964-5)
