About me
Hanne Grice BA Hons, Dip – is a dog behaviour expert, author and founder of the award winning pet care and behaviour company Walk the Dog. Certified in canine psychology and canine communication.
A lifetime love of animals led Hanne to start Walk the Dog™. She was surrounded by dogs, cats, and other small animals from a young age. Having pets herself and working long hours in London for over ten years, she realised there was a need for an all round service that gave pet owners like herself, real peace of mind whether it was professional dog walking and pet care to help with problem pets, so owners had somewhere to turn to get expert advice, support, up to date training with first class service.
In 2006, Hanne launched Walk the Dog, starting with just a handful of clients, Hanne now has over 450 clients on her books including some familiar faces from the world of sport and entertainment. She has won a number of awards both nationally and locally for her work, has represented female entrepreneurs presenting in front of government bodies and the Minister for Business and Enterprise. Hanne is the author of Playing With Your Dog and contributes to a number of publications sharing advice on canine behaviour, animal care and management. She has recently just finished filming online videos for Retrieva, the world’s first tracking and anti-theft dog collar, has given expert advice on the BBC Breakfast sofa, Talk Sport and has been invited to discuss pet care and behaviour for BBC Three Counties radio on several occasions.
Hanne works with all sorts of dogs from chihuahua’s to bull mastiff’s, helping with all sorts of problems from aggression and separation anxiety to obsessions and phobias, using kind positive training. She runs a successful puppy school with classes held in Leverstock and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT member no: 74193) and a Highly Recommended Associate Jan Fennell Dog Listener.
Hanne has won the ‘Special Merit Award’ from the National Association of Registered Petsitters (NARP) for her dog behaviour work and pet care services with Walk the Dog in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She also received the Dacorum Business Excellence Award in October 2009.
