Puppy classes
Hanne runs two courses through her award winning pet care and behaviour company Walk the Dog™. These courses include: Walk the Dog™ Puppies Stage 1 aimed at newly vaccinated puppies, and Walk the Dog™ Puppy Progress Stage 2 aimed at approx 6/7month olds, when puppies typically enter their ‘teens’.
Both courses are five weeks and class sizes are kept to a maximum of 5 dogs per class to ensure you and your dog are given the care and attention you deserve in an calm and indoor environment. Classes are held every Tuesday evening at Leverstock Green Village Hall.
Our courses are designed to help you; understand your puppy, learn what drives his behaviour, teach you how to promote the wanted behaviour, as well as learning how to deal with the unwanted stuff too in a calm and controlled way. We focus on positive re-enforcement through praise and food reward. Choke collars, check chains and other gadgets are strictly forbidden.
Our stage 1 course is aimed at newly vaccinated puppies up to approx 5/6 months. The course gives you and your puppy…
- the opportunity to meet other young dogs in a calm and controlled environment
- understanding of how dogs think and the importance of not pressuring your pup
- teach you how to avoid unwanted behaviours
- basic training from recall to walking to heel
- the tools you need to ensure you have a long and happy relationship with your dog

Our stage 2 course is aimed at puppies from 6/7 months that have graduated from state 1 course or have had some basic training. This course helps your young dog…
- get to grips with further training skills
- teaches you about crisis management
- maintains those skills already learned
- plus we teach you some fun tricks too
This course is essential as most puppies reach puberty around this time, so it keeps them ‘on track.’
All puppies must be fully vaccinated.
Classes are held at: The Buglass Room, The Village Hall, Village Centre, Leverstock Green, near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire HP3 8QG.
Class times: Stage 1 – Every Tuesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Stage 2 – Tuesdays from 7.35pm (dates/times may vary).
Cost: £65.00 for each 5 week course.
