Behavioural consultation – dogs

Importance notice:

Often problem behaviour can be caused by a physical issue. Please ensure your pet has been checked by your veterinary surgeon prior to a consultation and completes the referral form below which should then be sent to us at: hanne@doglistener.tv

For veterinary surgeons – please link onto the document below to download the behaviour consultancy referral form.

The consultation process:

Consultations take place in your home – this enables Hanne to see you and your dog in your natural environment. Prior to your first visit, clients will have to complete a preassessment form.

Depending on the case, when the consultation process kicks off the first meeting typically lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours, follow up sessions are usually around 1.5 hours.  It’s a good idea to have all the members of your family present at the first consultation, so everyone has an understanding of what they need to do.

Your pet’s daily routine, history and family’s expectations of your dog will be discussed and your pet’s behaviour observed.  Hanne will help you to understand why your dog is displaying unwanted behaviours and more importantly, how to deal with them.  An accurate diagnosis and treatment plan will be provided.  Full telephone and email back up support will be available to you following your consultation so you have the support and coaching you need to ensure success.

While most dogs respond well to behaviour modification programmes after the initial consultation, some pets may need extra help.  That’s why the behaviour consultation process includes regular face to face sessions forming part of your treatment plan.

The consultation fee is £250 (non-refundable). This includes:

  • preparation of your case file (approx. 3-3.5hrs), email[s]/phone[s] call prior to your first face to face consultation
  • your consultation (session 1) plus two follow-on sessions (2 & 3)
  • probable diagnosis and treatment plan pack
  • back up notes for follow-on sessions (2 and 3)
  • advice and on-going coaching via email and telephone / web conferencing between sessions if desired
  • mileage for each session (within an 8 mile radius)
  • access to the latest articles from Hanne Grice including online blogs, downloadables, newsletters and more
  • early bird invitations to Hanne Grice’s behaviour and training workshops

Note:  Depending on the case, additional visits may be recommended and or required after our review at session 3. These additional sessions are charged at £40 per hour.

This service is available for clients located within the Three Counties area of: Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.  Mileage outside the 8 mile radius of Tring is charged at 0.45p per mile.

Abroad and across the country: SKYPE or Zoom and telephone consultancy is available for those further afield and abroad.  Please contact Hanne directly for further information about this service.
